GPS Treasure Hunt RallyWe have hidden ten adult-only GPS 'geocaches' around the province of Lubusz in the far west of Poland. Nine of the ten geocaches are shutterspot type challenges (you must find and photograph something, which we give you the coordinates and a clue for). A 'reward' awaits anyone who finds the cache. One cache is a large tupperware plastic container containing more traditional geocaching things like: Poland related gifts, small books, CDs, model cars, and a notebook for recording your find! The contents of this and each of our treasure troves change as they are found by successful treasure hunters. The task is to find the caches using a GPS, photograph it, and replace anything which is removed with something of a similar size and value for the next person to find. To find the hidden treasure you'll need to be able to decipher the GPS coordinates, possibly solve a clue or two, and physically unearth the treasure. Anyone with access to a 4x4 and a GPS can take part in the quest, at anytime of the year. If you let us know when you are coming, one of our club members can meet up with you to say hello, tell you something about the local area, and give you extra clues and hints, if needed. All the treasure caches are accessible either with a 4x4 car or on foot. None of the caches are hidden in completely inaccessible spots. All of them are either in picturesque or historically interesting locations. To take part in our GPS Treasure Hunt Rally you will need to have a handheld GPS unit, and a certain amount of spirit and energy to locate and find the 'treasure caches' we have hidden throughout Lubuskie. Taking part in our GPS treasure hunt will allow you to explore this attractive part of Poland in a fun and interesting way, and if you have a Land-Rover the chance to do some green-laning in a country many would describe as four-wheel-drive heaven. When caches are found it is important that something is left for the next treasure hunters to find. Replace whatever is hidden there with something interesting of your own (anything you like and think someone else would like to find!). Making sure to hide the treasure thoroughly before you leave so that locals don't find it by accident. Finally, report your find to us, along with photographic proof. All finds, reports and photos sent in will be recorded on our website for other potential treasure hunters to see :-) Anders Forsell from Sweden was the first adventurer to successfully find some of the hidden caches on our treasure hunt. This GPS treasure hunt is entirely independent of any other geocaching, navicaching or terracaching webpage or organisation. Coordinates are only issued to potential treasure seekers who assert that they are over 21 years of age! Warning: Do not drink and drive. Save any alcoholic 'treasure' you find until you get home!
