GPS Scavenger HuntWeekend Greenlaning GPS EventSee also: GPS; Permanent GPS Treasure Hunt and Location of GPS Hunt 3rd/4th February 2007 Over the weekend of the 3rd/4th February 2007 the Landy 4x4 club are organising a GPS and greenlane weekend in the far west of Poland. Taking part will give you the perfect excuse to take your Landy for a run in a picturesque part of Poland, meet with other Land Rover enthusiasts and use your GPS. Here is the outline program: Several days before the hunt Participants are emailed the full set of GPS coordinates and clues. Saturday Participants spend the Saturday locating independently a set number of GPS points. As this is an individual activity you can start and finish the hunt whenever you like and take as long as you like to complete the task. To take part in the hunt you will need: - to do some planning of routes prior to the hunt. - a 4x4 vehicle (preferably a Land Rover!) - to own or borrow a handheld GPS unit. - walking shoes or boots and warm and wet weather clothing. The task is to get to and locate as many of the various GPS points as possible. As well as locating the stash at each point participants will need to solve a clue, and actually find the hidden and disguised treasure trove containing a rubber stamp. When this is found the stamp must be added to scavenger hunt forms and the cache replaced exactly as found. The Landrover team which has successfully located the most items from the list of stashes at the end of the day wins a highly collectable Landy club baseball cap! All participants receive a Land Rover Klub Polska window sticker.
Sunday Find and make your way to the meet up point using your GPS where you'll be able to discuss and compare finds from the previous day. Followed by a group greenlaning excursion along some local picturesque and interesting green lanes, for those who are interested. This is a non-damaging drive suitable for unmodified 4x4s and drivers of all levels.
Contact us to take part in this event, and to receive full details of location and GPS points by email. As with all our events there is no charge involved in taking part! The event is an opportunity to meet up with other Land Rover owners and 4x4 enthusiasts, see a different part of Europe, and use your Land Rover in an interesting, but non-damaging setting. Prices for food, drink, fuel, and accommodation in this part of Poland are very reasonable. We can provide you with details of different guest houses and hotels in the area should you wish. For the really adventurous and those on a budget camping would also be possible!
